Cricket is a long-established sport in Ireland. Cricket is governed by Cricket Ireland, which maintains the Ireland cricket team and Ireland women's cricket team. In the 2011 World Cup, they beat England in the group matches. ==History== Cricket was introduced to Ireland by the British in the towns of Kilkenny and Ballinasloe in the early 19th century.
